El Centro, CA Emergency Medical Technician Program
Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) are always in demand and in only 5 weeks, you can master the life-saving skills to be someone’s hero. EMTs are first responders who critically assess, evaluate and treat medical patients. They work on ambulances, in fire departments or hospital emergency departments and on search and rescue teams.
Becoming an EMT can also be a first step to several specialized career opportunities. An EMT certification is required prior to training as a paramedic and for certain fire service positions. EMT experience is highly desirable when applying for Physician Assistant (PA) programs.
The EMT program includes:
- 172 Hours of classroom instruction
- CPR Training
- 24 Hour externship
On successfully completing the EMT program, you will be eligible to take the national certifying exam through the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians – NREMT and receive your national EMT certification.
